Saturday morning we went to the farm market in Port Austin--too windy to go fishing. Friends, John & Linda arrived on Saturday, so I prepared a walleye dinner for them.
Sunday was windy again--no fishing, but Katie and the 3 kids came for the day.
With the winds still kicking up those waves on Monday we headed to Verona Hills to do some golfing (using one more of our golf punches).
I got sick in the night, so only Ray & John went fishing Tuesday morning. They ended up with 2 Lakers, 2 small Kings, and finally 2 walleye. They fished until early afternoon. Johnny & DessieRai and kids, Destiny & Jeffrey came up as well as Eileen and Amanda.
At approximately 4:36 p.m. there was a tragic sequence of events that took place right before our eyes. Our sites were located right next to the beach path--1st, 2nd & 3rd sites--so we were all sitting around at the closest site chatting and a man comes up and tells us to call 911. Here is the link that tells what happened:

We were stunned, but the park ranger says that it is a yearly occurrence. It has to have been a shock for the family.
Ray & John & Johnny fished Wednesday and came back with 9 walleye and 2 smallmouth bass. Karen & Ken showed up late for leftover walleye fry.
Thursday was again fishable with Eileen heading out to catch her limit of 5 walleye and Ray, John & Johnny bringing in the other 4. Destiny became a teenager today! We had four kinds of fish in foil for dinner.
Ray & John & Johnny headed out again on Friday, and caught 3 walleye, but never got a picture that day because of all the activity once they got ashore. That's too bad because one of them was over 26 inches--and that ain't no fish tale! Dinner out at the Grindstone bar and ICE CREAM!
One last day--Saturday--time to head home for John & Johnny, but not until the fishing is done. Ray took them out for a morning catch of 3 Lakers and 2 Steelhead. I made a lunch of fish boil for everyone before they had to head for home.
