Port Crescent State Park July 5-19, 2009...

We had the most beautiful spot in the park--the only site right on the main beach next to the beach path. We had lots of nice weather but with some very cold nights. We ate out a lot. We had a perfect day for golf at Verona Hills in Verona. We were also able to get in some golf at Hidden Harbor in Caseville, Caseville Country Golf Course, and Bird Creek in Port Austin. Ray & I fished out of Grindstone and got our limit of walleye one day. We were blessed to have Jaime & Jeff and all four kids with us for a couple of days. Their tents got mighty cold with temperatures dropping to 41 degrees at night. Friends from the Detroit "burbs" kept Ray company on the boat most days and we had plenty of fish to feed the anywhere from 12-19 mouths for dinner. The total fish caught were: 52 walleye, 9 smallmouth bass, and one 36-inch pike. Lots of fishermen with lots of fish. Lots of ice cream licking and deer sightings--many of them fawns. We had such a nice time and especially enjoyed the site and not having to make any moves once we were set up. We caught up on all the news with our friends and have walleye in the freezer--what more could you ask.
